Más información

Dicastillo is a town in Tierra Estella located in the southern part of Montejurra, a few kilometers from Estella-Lizarra. Its historic center, perched on a hill, retains a distinctly medieval layout organized into several terraced neighborhoods, connected by narrow streets, slopes, and stairways.

Dicastillo’s heritage reflects the town’s historical importance within the County of Lerín. The parish church of San Emeterio and San Celedonio, with its outstanding Romanesque-style main altarpiece and Mannerist altarpieces from the Monastery of Irache, is one of its main landmarks. Complementing this ensemble are the Chapel of the Virgin of Nievas, located at the top of the town center; the Palace of the Countess of Vega del Pozo; and the ruins of the Monastery of San Pedro de Gazaga, which together form a heritage tour closely linked to the landscape.

The natural surroundings are a major attraction of the municipality. From Dicastillo, you can easily access the trails and paths of Montejurra, a highly prized area for hiking, mountain biking, and enjoying the scenery.

Gastronomy is another defining feature of Dicastillo. Beyond the well-known Asparagus Festival in May, the town invites visitors to discover initiatives that promote local products and the careful production of various beverages—such as wine, beer, pacharán, and other liqueurs—viewing them as an integral part of the landscape, tradition, and cuisine.
