Más información

Ollobarren is one of the municipalities in the Metauten Valley, located twelve kilometers from Estella-Lizarra. The village sits at the foot of the rocky escarpment of the Sierra de Lóquiz, on high ground that offers sweeping views of the Allín Valley and the farmland stretching southward.

The town center is laid out in a linear fashion along a street that rises gently toward the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the visual and symbolic heart of the town. The church stands out for its Proto-Gothic façade and its 17th-century Baroque tower, one of Ollobarren’s most significant heritage landmarks. Among the dwellings, stone houses bearing coats of arms have been preserved, reflecting the village’s noble past.

The forests of holm oaks and gall oaks covering the slopes of Lóquiz, along with the traditional trails leading up to the mountains, offer numerous opportunities for walking and hiking. From the village itself, you can access trails that lead to the Agujero de Ollobarren, a small cave traversed by a path connecting the valley to the upper reaches of the mountain range.

Social life in the municipality revolves around deeply rooted traditions, such as the auzolan, which has helped maintain and improve the village’s common spaces. The patron saint festivities, held every August 14 and 15 in honor of the Assumption, bring together residents and tourists for popular events, religious celebrations, and community gatherings, reinforcing the welcoming character of this small but very active village.
