Más información

Located in the heart of the Allín Valley, on a gentle slope at the foot of the Lóquiz Mountains, Muneta is one of the smallest and most peaceful rural villages in Tierra Estella. Designated a historic site and just a few kilometers from Estella-Lizarra, the village retains the essence of the valley’s traditional villages, where the landscape, community life, and proximity to vast natural areas are its main attractions.

The natural surroundings define the visitor experience. From the village center itself, panoramic views open up toward the rocky cliffs of Lóquiz, the Urbasa mountain range, the San Fausto crags, and Mount Belástegui. It is a mid-mountain landscape crisscrossed by trails that connect to other towns in the valley and to hiking routes leading up into the mountains. These trails allow visitors to explore a region historically linked to agriculture, livestock farming, and forestry.

The local heritage is centered on small features that reflect traditional daily life: the parish church of San Vicente, rebuilt in the 17th century on the site of an earlier medieval church; the historic fountain and washhouse, linked to the town’s water supply; and the fronton, a central gathering place for the community. Added to this is the presence of small livestock farms that sustain the municipality’s economy.

Traditions continue to shape the local calendar. The patron saint festivities, held in early September, bring together locals and tourists for several days of celebration, culminating in a joint pilgrimage to the San Martín hermitage alongside nearby towns—a reflection of the historic relationship between the municipalities of the Allín Valley.
