Más información

Lerate is synonymous with water, light, and summer. Located on the shores of the Alloz Reservoir, in the southwestern part of the Guesálaz Valley, this small municipality has become one of the most recognizable spots in Tierra Estella when temperatures rise.

It’s the perfect place to unwind and spend the whole day without watching the clock.

For much of the year, it maintains the peaceful pace typical of a small town, but as soon as the warm weather arrives, the area comes alive. The turquoise color of the reservoir, the swimming areas, the outdoor activities, and the proximity to nature make Lerate a popular destination for families, couples, and groups of friends looking to enjoy the water in a well-maintained and accessible setting.

The town center retains its rural character, with rough-stone houses, semicircular arched doorways, and buildings dating from the 16th century and later. Among these, the Church of San Pedro stands out—a medieval structure with Cistercian influences that blends naturally into the townscape.

A short distance away lies one of the valley’s major attractions: the swimming area at the Alloz Reservoir, known as Lerate Beach. Well-equipped, well-maintained, and designed for responsible enjoyment, it is one of the most iconic destinations for inland tourism in Navarre. A small wooden bridge juts out over the water, offering a different perspective of the reservoir, especially at sunset.
