Más información

Ibiricu de Yerri/Ibiricu de Ierri is one of those villages where the landscape changes in just a few steps. Situated on a peaceful hillside at the foot of Urbasa-Andía, it overlooks the Yerri Valley, surrounded by fields, springs, and forests that have historically shaped the lives of its inhabitants.

The natural surroundings are one of its greatest attractions. The open farmland gradually gives way to holm oak groves and oak forests, and as you climb toward Lizarrate and Allide, to vast beech forests that signal the transition between Urbasa and Andía. This natural mosaic makes the village an ideal spot for walking, exploring ancient trails, and discovering the landscape.

The village center retains the character of Navarran mountain villages, with well-oriented stone houses and a well-maintained appearance resulting from community work and the auzolán. The Church of St. John the Evangelist, which combines Romanesque and Baroque elements, and the medieval chapel of St. Christopher serve as reminders of the historical importance of the trails and the village’s relationship with its surroundings.

From the earliest prehistoric settlements and the small Roman enclave linked to the trade routes, to the folk legends that speak of giants, monumental stones, and ancient boundary markers, Ibiricu de Yerri/Ibiricu de Ierri presents itself as an authentic village rich in nuances, inviting visitors to explore it at a leisurely pace.
