Más información

Garísoain is one of those charming villages that are remembered for their fabulous views. Perched on a hill in the Guesálaz Valley, just a few kilometers from the Alloz Reservoir and barely 22 km from Estella-Lizarra, it offers a peaceful experience where landscape, heritage, and rural life come together.

From the town center itself, the landscape opens up to fields, mountain ranges, and limestone cliffs. The San Quiriaco Cliffs define the natural landscape of the area and make the surroundings an ideal place for walking, observing, and enjoying the sounds of nature, with panoramic views stretching to the Alloz Reservoir and the mountain ranges that surround it.

In the village, the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady is a true heritage gem of Romanesque origin. It retains its medieval façade and houses an exceptional collection of Renaissance altarpieces by Bernabé Imberto, one of the great sculptors of the 16th century in Navarre. A church that surprises from the outside and moves the soul from within.

Garísoain keeps alive the essence of small rural villages: stone houses, shared spaces, and a strong sense of neighborly camaraderie. Auzolan—community work—has been key to maintaining the village and improving its services, reinforcing that sense of community you feel the moment you arrive.

A visit to the village is rounded out by a culinary experience rooted in tradition: a cider house-restaurant that keeps local cuisine alive and has become a gathering place for both residents and visitors exploring the valley. It’s the perfect way to sit down for a meal after a walk through the surrounding area or a day spent by the Alloz Reservoir.
