Más información

Esténoz/Esténotz is a small village in the Guesálaz Valley, situated in the interfluve formed by the Salado River and the Arzoz Ravine, at an elevation of 520 meters and very close to the Alloz Reservoir. Surrounded by open fields and offering views of the surrounding mountain ranges, it maintains a close connection to water, the agricultural landscape, and the unhurried pace of rural life.

The main landmark is the parish church of San Martín, a Late Medieval church renovated in the 16th century. Inside, one of the valley’s greatest artistic treasures is preserved: the altarpiece of Saint Martin of Tours, a monumental work that astonishes with its quality and the contrast between its artistic richness and the simplicity of its surroundings.

The landscape is another of the area’s main attractions. From Esténoz, the grain fields stretch out until they meet the waters of the Alloz Reservoir, while the Andía mountain ranges stand out in the background. It is an ideal setting for strolling, observing the changes in light and color throughout the year, or taking a leisurely walk to the shore of the reservoir.

Life in Esténoz is marked by neighborly cooperation and shared traditions. The auzolán remains essential for the village’s upkeep, and local celebrations and gatherings at the gastronomic society strengthen the bonds between neighbors, especially when summer brings life and activity back to its streets.
