Más información

Artavia is a district within the municipality of the Allín Valley, located on the banks of the Urederra River and a short distance from Estella-Lizarra. It is part of a group of small settlements that make up the valley, along with towns such as Amillano, Aramendía, Eulz, Galdeano, and Larrión, forming a historically settled area traditionally linked to agriculture and livestock farming.

The town center features well-preserved traditional architecture, with stone buildings and a simple layout. Among its heritage sites, the Church of San Esteban stands out—a medieval structure renovated in the 16th century—which has been central to the council’s history and dominates the townscape as its principal landmark.

The Urederra River defines the landscape and the experience of the surroundings. As it flows through Artavia, it passes the river swimming area—a natural space integrated into the riverbed that is highly valued during the summer months for its cool and accessible setting. Next to this spot stands the Artavia Bridge, a 16th-century stone structure with a large semicircular arch, which is one of the town’s most recognizable landmarks and a key point in the historical connection between the two riverbanks.

Trails, traditional paths, and nature routes connect Artavia with other municipalities in the Allín Valley, allowing visitors to discover a region where water, riverbank landscapes, and the proximity of the Lokiz and Urbasa mountain ranges create an ideal setting for leisurely walks, forest trails, and direct contact with the rural landscape of Tierra Estella.
