Route 25. Arnaba Hanging Valley

Recorrido

The circular route starts from the washhouse in Gastiáin. We leave the village heading north and take the track opposite the main entrance to Gastiáin, passing beside a farm. We begin to climb up a steep slope towards the summit. As we ascend, we enjoy beautiful views of the Lana valley, the formations of the Arnaba hanging valley and the oak woods in the lower area, as well as beech forests higher up.

After reaching the upper section and taking in the panoramic view from above, we descend through a beech forest, first heading north until we find a well-marked track. We then follow this track southeast until we reach the Narcué pass. We descend along this path to the village of Narcué. After crossing it, we continue for almost one kilometre along the road before taking an agricultural track that branches off to the right and leads us back to Gastiáin. During this last section of the route, there is the option to visit the hermitage of San Miguel.
