Route 14. Longar Hypogeum and Hermitages of Viana

We start the circular route in the car park of Viana sports complex and head north, passing the Hermitage of El Calvario along a gravel track in good condition. We pass the ruins of the Hermitage of San Juan del Ramo and then reach the village of Aras.

We cross the village and, from its upper part beside a pond, head northwest along the signposted track, first descending through the Alto de la Sierra area until we reach the junction to visit the Longar hypogeum. We take the steep climb up to the hypogeum and, once visited, return along the same path, taking care on the descent. Back at the junction, we head south towards Viana, following the Longar River, which later becomes known as Valdeibáñez. Before reaching Viana, we find the Hermitage of San Martín de Tidón. We then cross the town to return to the starting point.
